Work & Teach Looking to continue the fun overseas, but you need to make some cash? Well, check out these programs that can help you pay your bills. BUNAC - the company is very comprehensive and has a ton of great opportunities abroad including Work/Holiday Visas. The Work/Holiday visa is a great program becuase it allows you to legally work and travel within a country for a few months. There are limited countries available for this program, but Australia and New Zealand are both included! BUNAC is especially good to look through if you are American, British or Irish.
Teach English - Think you don't have any skills? Well, now all you native English speakers can just go overseas and teach English! TEFL - Teaching English as a Foreign Language Also check out Dave's ESL Cafe
Short-term Jobs for that "GAP" year
Camp America - This is a great way for foreigners to come to the US. Spend a summer hanging out at in the sunshine teaching kids. There are all sorts of camps and all sorts of situations, so shop around. We knew a lot of counselors from United Kingdom, Netherlands, Australia, New Zealand, France, Ireland. The counselors would get their ticket to the US, work (and party) all summer, and then travel afterwards and take their flight home when they were ready.
PeaceCorp - There are all sorts of jobs available in all sorts of places around the world. It's hard work in third world countries, but all of our peace corp buddies were really inspired and changed by the experience.
Americorp - If you don't want to find yourself outside of the US, but like the idea of Peace Corp, then maybe Americorp is for you. It's US National Community Service and well-worth the experience.
