| When it comes to packing I’m a little obsessive and you could probably call it a Macgyver complex. Always be prepared. Insect repellant, sunblock are all standards but that length of string that carried for 3 months in south America came in really handy – not for the portable clothes line it was meant to be for, but to tie onto the door knob to keep the door closed in a dodgy hostel in Guatemala. Just don’t plan on getting out of their too fast I guess… | |

Three essentials for India:
GET YOUR VISA ORGANIZED AHEAD OF TIME. The Embassy wait can be brutal!
A-Z of Adventure Travel Insurance from World Nomads as you will probably get "Delhi Belly."
Hostelworld was a great help for finding cheap, but decent accommodation in India!
