Travel Insurance?

Booking Engines

Our favorite site for shopping around on flights is Kayak.com.  This site pulls up rates from all over the web and allows you to easily compare.

And well, there is always the big travel sites:

LastMinuteTravel.com

Regional Tips

For cheap flights you may want to check out some of these smaller airlines or companies:

Australia
Virgin Blue

The best way to skip around Australia is the Qantas air pass.  It gives you a great deal if you want to go to a few different destinations in Australia.

China
Elong
  - downside, must fax copy of credit card for booking
UJI - out of Hong Kong

USA
Southwest
Jet Blue
Song

Europe - We have heard nothing but bad things about the cheap UK carriers. However, it's hard to pass up a 12 pound flight to another city in Europe.  Hence, why they still manage to do well.
Ryan Air
Easy Jet

We have also had a lot of great luck with:
SkyEurope - when they have sales you can sometimes buy tickets for the price of the taxes.  No charge for the actual ticket!
Euro Flight Pass - allows you to fly from city to city within Europe for $100 each way.  For odd cities this is a great deal and price and probably the cheapest you will find.

Frequent Flyer Programs
The best place to get the latest information on Frequent Flyer programs is FlyerTalk . This site has a ton of active participants that trade information on ticket deals and the best way to increase your flyer points. Also, you should reach our to CPB member Eliott as he seems to be the Frequent Flyer guru!

Three essentials for India:
GET YOUR VISA ORGANIZED AHEAD OF TIME.  The Embassy wait can be brutal!

A-Z of Adventure Travel Insurance from World Nomads as you will probably get "Delhi Belly."

Hostelworld was a great help for finding cheap, but decent accommodation in India!
