Nation-wide pub crawl

Overall Rating (5 awesome - 1 terrible): 3

GENERAL
Program/company I traveled with:
I was living in London

HIGHLIGHTS
Major Activity:
History, Festivals, Pubs & Bars, Meeting People, Horseback Riding, Soccer
One thing you cannot miss:
Stonehenge & Avery I still want to go to a Glasstonbery Festival!
One thing you should avoid:
Stratford-Upon-Avon
I wish someone had told me:
If you visit many of the British towns they start to blend together.
Suggested visiting time:
I traveled on weekends over a 4 month period.

ACTIVITIES
Next time:
STONEHENDGE & AVERY - don't miss Avery. It gives Stonehendge a great freaky impact. BRIGHTON - walked the beach where Sting filmed an early movie and drank lots of beer at the pubs. DOVER - yikes, there white cliffs of Dover are kind of boring. CAMBRIDGE - liked it more than Oxford. Go to walk around. OXFORD - good to walk around. LAKE DISTRICT - beautiful in a drying by the fireplace kind of feel. Good for hiking. COTTSWALDS - very cute little villages. Worth a look. STRATFORD UPON AVON - skip the disney-esq Shakespere Tour of the town. It's terrible and I'm a big fan of his. BATH - Beautiful architecture. Worth going to.

ACCOMODATION
Hotels/hostels/accom:
I stayed in hostels. Unfortunately, none I would recommend.

NIGHTLIFE
Local Activity/Cultural Experience:
The only redeeming factor to STRATFORD-UPON AVON is that it houses the Royal Shakespere Company. I saw them perform an amazing version of the Cherry Orchard.
At night:
pubs, pubs, and pubs

GETTING AROUND
My Route:
trains from London. It's the best way to get around. I have also driven, but I prefer the tarins.

SAFETY
Safety Tips:
yes. It's all safe.
Three essentials for India:
GET YOUR VISA ORGANIZED AHEAD OF TIME.  The Embassy wait can be brutal!

A-Z of Adventure Travel Insurance from World Nomads as you will probably get "Delhi Belly."

Hostelworld was a great help for finding cheap, but decent accommodation in India!
