Trip Costs
In general, my costs in US$ were:
For the Whole Day: For a Night's Accommodation:
For a Meal: For a Beer/Cocktail:
Activities & Experiences

The Oaxoa Coast was unreal. It was a very windy long mini-van bus ride down the mountain to the beaches, but it was worth it. The beaches were desolate and beautiful and the scene was chill.
ZIPOLITE - Los Cosmico. The owner reminded me of the guy in Along Came Polly that Debra Messing has an affair with. Our room was just what you expect on a coast - all open window, mosquito net around the bed, view of the ocean. Downside was that the bathroom was two flights down and across a courtyard. < br> MAZUNTE - Alta Mira www.labuenavista.com/alta_mira/ Incredible place to stay. Definitely for the outgrown hostel type as far as comfort and cost. It was not outragious in price, but compared to the $10 a night we had been paying it was about 3 or 4 times that. It was worth it for the beautiful rooms and verandas with hammocks overlooking an incredible coast.

Also, we came into Mexico from Guatemala. San Cristobal and Palenque were worth a visit.
PALENQUE - We stayed on the road to the ruins at EL PANCHAN. We had our own room in the middle of the jungle. We had an outdoor shower and at night we heard the cries of ferral cats mating. Great bar to hang out and watch all the freaky people who stayed there.

Three essentials for India:
GET YOUR VISA ORGANIZED AHEAD OF TIME.  The Embassy wait can be brutal!

A-Z of Adventure Travel Insurance from World Nomads as you will probably get "Delhi Belly."

Hostelworld was a great help for finding cheap, but decent accommodation in India!
