Activities & Experiences
Beach Believe it or not, the coast is really nice and down near Saranda it is great. We actually took a ferry across the water from Saranda to the Greek island of Corfu.
Mountains Albania has tons of them.
Historical Sites The oldest place is Butrint, a Roman ruin near Saranda. Other than that there is Kruje, the home of the national hero Skenderbeg. There are also some historic churches and mosques.
Trendy Hot Spots The trendy hot spot when I was there was a club called "The Living Room". It was actually pretty nice with a rooftop. You definitely did not feel like you were in Tirana. There is another area in Tirana called the Blloku with a bunch of clubs and restaurants.
Lake Right outside of Korca on the way to Tirana you can stop at Pogradec on Lake Ohrid (across the way from Macedonia). It is surrounded by mountains and really beautiful. Good fish to eat as well.
Historical Sites The city of Korca is in the foothills leading up the mountains. There is a really nice mountain town near Korca called Voskopoje, which has some really nice and historic churches. Tough to get too, but really nice.
